Here's the deal:

Self-publshing just wont cut through. Let's face it, if I were out to make money.. I could have just overpriced everything. Raise it up 300% so one book would pay for 3. Or maybe, that I could have just offered it as a free downloadable since it looks like its gonna need alot of sympathy.

Im obviously ranting!

But all hope isn't lost.. because i'm waiting for another publishing company to cut me off some slack and allow me to get this 50-paged-colored material to come out at $10.00. It's not a question on whether self publishing is more expensive, its a question of how less expensive it can be.

THE PROBLEM WITH HUGE COMPANIES IS THAT THEY'RE THE ONES WHO SENT SUPERMAN TO EARTH!
Not that they owe me anything. It's just they give me too much hope! muwahahahahaa. DC doesnt accept submissions at the moment. MARVEL does, but they probably get it in the thousands. IMAGE is 2% of the market, DARK HORSE is 3% -- and it still doesnt look like they're gonna notice my 50 pagesl. (well havent submitted yet, so who knows.. im just saying, it's a longshot. My bro and I are actually planning to submit a 300 page story to Marvel about Archangel after this whole thing.. just for the sake of standing out from the other 1000 submissions they receive that week. MAY I REMIND YOU, I AM RANTING!)

SO IT'S ON TO SELF-PUBLISHING.. SHET!
We were expecting it to be a battle of the gut from early on. Who ever thought a frail guy with blindfolds who kills Achilles and all the warriors of hell ...WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE A MARKET?

Bottomline is: THERE IS A MARKET. Not very wide.. just enough to buy a mocha frappe. HUGE COMAPNIES have a term for this -- OTHERS. Those who maintain "cult-like following." That's where we belong and we love it!?! So when all the warriors in hell are dead, where do they go? Darn! I actually had a cool answer..

Defending the 3% (OTHERS.. meaning US) isnt really hard. The people who get my comic book know what to look at -- the art and the story. They do not have pre-judgements of how its supposed to be for kids, or of the idea that it was influenced by manga, or that it isnt too manga. It's something they look forward to, because they appreciate it -- THIS IS MY CULT AND I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT I WANT MY CULT TO GROW! and unfortunately selling the comic book at 12.50 just wont do it for the 2 other people who wanna be part of my cult. They want it at $10.00! The normal 50 pages already sell at $7.00 why do we self-publishers have to be the one to look like marketers when all we did was do ..uhm ..everything else!!!

That's why I made GAIA a slut in one of my comic books (YELLOW MIDNIGHT) She wont cut me off some slack. Actual quote: "MOTHER EARTH IS THE BIGGEST BITCH OF ALL" -- again, may i remind you, I AM RANTING!

FALSE PROPHETS ..they are in this comic book (TORMENT), in the 4th issue -- Nietzche, Nostradamus, Zarathus etc. They posed as prophets to the world and that is why they are in Hell.

HERE ARE MORE FALSE PROPHETS:
Publish on demand services. LULU.com for example, in my opinion (coz i dont wanna be sued) is geared to make more money for themselves rather than for the creators. IN HELL THESE PEOPLE WILL HEAR THE IMMENSE SCRATCHING OF A BLACKBOARD FOR ETERNITY.

Ordering from mainstream PUBLISHING COMPANIES require at least a thousand copies. Ok, take your catalog and shove it up your ass (and i said that for the other hundred thousand self publishers whom you guys leech off) THESE PEOPLE WILL BE IN THE PIT OF THE ABYSS WHERE THEY WILL BE TICKLED BY TRANSGENDERED WOMEN WHO LOOK LIKE ARNOLD SCHARZENEGER.

SMALL PRESSES. They're small so they charge alot. I dont blame them. We're in the same world, them and I. They do not belong in Hell.

Oh yeah and the HUGE COMPANIES, THEY WILL FOREVER BE TORMENTED BY THE GREAT FART, A MONSTROUS POOP THAT WILL READ THE STORY OF "THE LITTLE PRINCE" OVER AND OVER AND OVER.. AND HIS BREATH WILL SMELL OF FILTH.

Now im starting to feel better...

So until next week I will be waiting for the last publishing company to whom I ordered 50 copies (7 bucks each.. SHET, that's alot of mocha frappes) only so I could send it to submissions and to bookstores that carry independent works. THE BOOKSTORE WONT NECESSARILY AGREE TO SELL IT, THEY PROBABLY WONT (IM ONLY SENDING THEM COPIES SO I WONT HAVE TO BEAR THE GUILT THAT THE MATERIAL COULD HAVE GONE SO FAR IF ONLY I DIDNT HELD BACK).. im not counting on it. The worst part is that they wont return the book. And that's two weeks of my day job im never getting back.

Haaaaaay.. why did ISBN's need to exist? Why should a self-publisher still have to purchase it? People dont seem to understand how broke we are.. and that the only reason why we're doing this is because we cared enough to tell the people things SPAWN, THE X-MEN, BATMAN, and SUPERMAN could never do -- even if it was JIM LEE and FRANK MILLER creating them.

I think I could mass produce in the Philippines, no?! Would probably pay so much less, and then I could just sell it through ebay.. Then I would sell it for just $10.00 -- with 3.00 going to the printing, and the rest going to shipping and handling. And with the mailing system all screwed up, it wont be long before i am sued.
